Kobelt manufactures a wide variety of disc brake caliper equipment for a wide variety of applications. While their emergency brakes are most often applied by springs, Kobelt brakes for tension applications tend to be applied pneumatically or hydraulically. As with all Kobelt products, their brakes are designed and manufactured with industry leading serviceability and reliability.
Kobelt industrial brake systems are used in countless applications, including works of oil and gas extraction, marine, mining, forestry, material handling, offshore mooring winches and amusement park rides. They build durable and rugged brake systems that are used in a number of industries around the world, capable and in small to very large sizes.
Kobelt also offers a range of alternative braking options. Manually applied brakes are often used for tension applications on various coils or to maintain applications on products like industrial fans when they need maintenance. Kobelt CM brake models are a unique combination of a service brake and a parking brake in one package.
Kobelt's air-applied service brakes, with their precise proportional control over the respective load, are well suited for speed and voltage control applications. The range of air disc brake calipers accommodates a wide range of torque requirements and is configurable to customer specifications.
Kobelt spring brakes provide safety and support for braking, parking or emergency braking applications. For fail-safe braking, oil pressure or air pressure is used to disengage the mechanical spring assemblies that provide the braking force. When the oil or air pressure drops or is lost for some reason, the brake engages. Otherwise called emergency brakes, spring brakes engage when power is lost.
DIRECT ACTION BRAKES
The 5300 Series Direct Acting Brake can be spring applied for fail-safe applications or hydraulic for tensioning applications. What differentiates a direct-acting brake from a lever brake or caliper brake is the lack of a pivot point or lever arm between the brake actuator and the brake pad. On a direct-acting brake, the brake actuator acts directly on the brake pad.
Hydraulically actuated brake systems meet a wide range of torque requirements and are configurable to customer specifications.
TENSION CONTROL BRAKE
The 5400 series offers high quality, high performance tension control brakes, with exceptional torque control and longer pad life.
Having a Kobelt tension brake will not only save you money, but it will also help you increase productivity and maximize your capabilities, with fewer belt failures, longer service intervals and less wear and tear. some discs.
Outside of the automotive industry, Kobelt manufactures the widest range of ventilated brake discs in the world. Standard discs vary in thickness from ¾ inch (18 mm) to 4 inches (102 mm) and from 9 inches in diameter (229 mm) to 60.5 inches in diameter (1537 mm). We can also supply solid discs of any size and are more than happy to ream and drill any of our discs to suit your specific application.
